The Movie Be With Me - 716 Words

Hopeless end or Endless Hope The movie â€Å"Be with Me† brings three story lines together. The first story line is about an elderly lady named Theresa Chan; she has several disabilities with endless hope. Ms. Chan gets her life narrated by a young man with a father who has dedicated endless love to his sick wife. The second story is about two young ladies who are in love. Until Sam starts having an affair and Jackie falls to a Hopeless end. The last story is about a chubby security guy who while on duty falls in love with a lady he first sees through the camera security checks and destiny ends his life. My goal is to describe the comparison of the stories. Throughout this passage I will talk about hope, love and destiny. Love is an act of having unconditional care for someone else other than your self. Mr. Chang had happiness and love for her self, with disabilities of deaf and been blind. She was able to overcome so many obstacles. Can you picture a lady that could only communicate with hand gestures and been able to perform in her own movie? Mr. Chang gave her self-value which made her overcome any obstacle she placed her mind on. At the age of fourteen she started complaining about her health issues but she was not taken serious until her health got worse. In the movie Ms. Chang starts receiving food from an elderly guy who owns a food market. He later looses his wife and falls to a miserable road. Space for Love Natures Domain Essay - 1379 Words

English 102-08 22 October 2012 Space for Love: Nature’s Domain While reading the assigned texts I’ve noticed that love needs special settings and spaces. Throughout time these spaces have adapted and changed to help suit generations. Literature has played a key role in the changing of these places. Although each writer’s interpretation of love-like settings may differ from one another, there are very basic similarities between them. Tradition has made it so that nature is almost always involved in these, â€Å"Spaces for Love.† Also, traditionally we would expect love between opposite sexes but there is tremendous amounts of literature written now that involve love between the same sexes. My goal in this essay is to show that through the†¦show more content†¦Back in those times there wasn’t any technology like we have now so nature and the surroundings were really the only things you could compare things to. Even I myself have felt the comfort of sitting under a tree an d eating an apple. Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits. I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved. (Song of Sol.4:16-5:1) This quote shows how the garden is a special place for them. Again nature plays a part in how the two feel about one another. The garden is a good place for love because it represents growth and nourishment. He responds to her in the quote saying how he’s eaten all that he’s supposed to and that it is her turn. In other quotes like, â€Å"Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves,† (Song of Sol. 7:12) there is more reference to going where plants and fruits flourish and grow. These quotes are filled with sexual innuendos so these places represent both emotional and physical love. Ethics Governance And Professionalism †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Ethics Governance And Professionalism. Answer: Introduction to ethics and professionalism Professional development is defined as a process of improving the competence of staffs through training and providing further education opportunities. Also, it is an act of building and maintaining the morale of staff members and instilling discipline to comply with professional regulatory requirements. In the past decades, many implied that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) professionals operate in an ethical vacuum profession. However, the growing concerns in careers demand an outline of values be followed by workers. In ICT industry, it is one of the tactics used to promote human welfare (Weckert, Lucas Selgelid, 2013). In the Conflict of Interest a case study, Michael an IT manager in one of government departments decided to sign a contract with Stevens company to install an enterprising resource planning system. His decision was highly influenced by his past encounter with Steven. By the time he was issuing the tender to him they had developed a close friendship. S teven also called Michael asking for a favor from him making the tendering process disputable. Above all the biggest concern was Michael had a better option from Company A whose software was more economical and with better qualities but decided to turn their offer down in favor of Stevens company. As an ICT professional, the provision of Australian Computer Society and Professionalism will ensure that one behaves ethically at all times. Conflict of interest makes decision-making process very difficult. The Australia Computer Society (ACS) demands that as a professional you need to maintain and advance the formality, honor, and value of the profession in all activities and keep high standards of ethical conduct and competence as you deal with employers, clients, and the public. Therefore it is necessary to explore ethics in a detailed manner to understand what the codes demands from the staffs at personal and professional levels. Acting in an ethical manner ensures that the decisions made where a conflict of interest is evident are right and that ethical course of action prevails. For instance where ethics and professionalism are observed fairness, justice, respect for human rights, best outcomes and humanity among other principles takes the day (Communications.gov.au. 2016). T herefore, Michael was not honest with Company A and his action was unethical and unprofessional. Favoring Steves company whose software was substandard meant that Company A was treated unfairly, and therefore he did not strive to enhance the quality of life to those affected by his actions (Courses.cs.vt.edu, 2016). Lastly, he violated the primacy of the public interest and acted against the profession. IT governance and legal requirement Governance in ICT is paramount as it involves areas affecting control, accountability, authority and responsibility of all the staffs involved. In ethical terms, governance is defined as beliefs, values, and morals of an organization. However, IT governance sets organizational cultures and outlines the acceptable behaviors within the organization. The legal requirement in IT demands that there is a need for some standards to be followed by all professionals either locally or internationally. Development of such standards establishes some principals for the effective, efficient and acceptable use of IT. Governance then ensures that their organizations operate under the set standards to balance risks and encourage equal opportunities arising from IT development (MacDonald, 2016). Conflict of interest should be avoided at all cost such that companies or individuals already playing a certain role with a given client should disqualify themselves from playing another. For this reason, it i s unethical and is illegal to have a conflict of interest which is not acknowledged in the organization. In the case study, Conflict of Interest Michael was supposed to overcome conflict of interest by letting a different person take over the tendering process. It was unprofessional for him to precede over the process and assign Steves company the tender. His decision meant the company would incur more in acquiring and maintaining the software. Therefore his action was self-driven and managements should avoid similar situations by adopting some legislations such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Legislation to ensure accuracy and reliability of contracts with other companies. Summer School free essay sample

Summer vacation revolves around everyones mind during the last few months of school, especially the summer after sophomore year since just about everyone can drive. Three months of sleeping in and homework free-nights sounds pretty amazing. However, my parents thought summer school sounded better. For a month. Thanks. I packed up my things, and in the early days of summer I left for a college in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I went willingly but a little sad about missing a summer with friends and being homework free. The camp gave high school students a small taste of the college life: a college class, living without your parents, and managing your homework with all the free time. My mom helped me unpack my stuff in the apartment, which was an eight-minute walk from the class I was taking, stayed for the orientation, and said goodbye. After orientation, I learned there were eleven other kids. We will write a custom essay sample on Summer School or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page My roommates name was Lydia, and the class was every week day for three hours in the morning. Then after a week I learned more about my fellow peers. Some would rather die than break a rule, and some were debating on whether to have their friends send them alcohol through the mail. Not everyone got along, and yet some were setting up dates to visit each other. This long experience taught my many lessons. You learn things through experience, new surroundings, and new people. I learned to stand up for what I believed instead of not saying anything because it is easier. I learned that its not the hardships we go through that matter, but how we respond and handle the problems were given. Im thankful for going to this summer camp, it has prepared me for the future.

Rights of the Accused

Rights of the Accused The phrase due process implies that laws should be practiced justly and equally to each person, particularly a citizen who becomes accused of a crime. The whole due process originated from founders of the United States, following their colonial experience (Kime, 2011).Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Rights of the Accused specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The founders realized that it was both impossible for democracies to work and individuals be secured unless those accused of crimes obtained the due process of law, through establishing the rights of the accused. They wanted to establish ways of guarding persons against aggressive actions of the state. Therefore, many rights of the accused became established in the in the Bill of Rights as 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th amendments, in order to make it hard for the state to deny people their freedom. Other rights can be found on Article 1, although, the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th amendments provide for the most rights. These rights of the accused suppose that each person is innocent unless proven guilty (Patrick, 2001). Besides, in 1960, the Supreme Court added to the rights of the accused through establishing that the government should offer an attorney for the accused, whereby the individual can not afford such services. Since then, the rights of the accused have incessantly received enhancements, in courtrooms. Explain how Due Process Protects the Accused against Abuses by the Federal Government The due process protects the accused against abuses by the federal government through several processing steps. First, the 4th amendment deprives of the federal government the right to make broad searches and seizures of possessions. The amendment restricts the police to search the arrested person and places that the arrested can have direct control. This amendment, also, prohibits imprisonment devoid of any logical grounds. Second, the 5th amendment depri ves of the federal government the right to force words to the accused, as they have a right to remain silent (Coldrey, 1991). According to the Supreme Court, unconscious or involuntary confessions can not be applied in federal courts although some state courts fail to abide by this provision.Advertising Looking for research paper on administrative law? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Also, the 5th amendment stipulates that an individual should not be accused of a severe crime devoid of investigations by the grand jury. Besides, the amendment prohibits double jeopardy, which means taking a person to trial for a second time due to an earlier crime. The exclusionary rule can be allied to the 4th and 5th amendments, as it supports the notion that evidence that gets collected illegally cannot be applied during a trial. One key notion of this rule is that evidence by the police is acceptable as long as the police can prove they obtained such evidence legally. Third, the 6th amendment orders the federal government to provide assistance of counsel for the defense of accused persons who can not afford such services (Patrick, 2001). Also, the amendment creates room for the accused to be informed of charges. Lastly, the 8th amendment forbids bizarre and brutal punishments, as in the English law. However, the most contentious matter that falls under the 8th Amendment is capital punishment, or the act of giving death sentences to persons who turn out to be guilty of serious crimes. The Supreme Court stipulates that individual states have the authority to practice their own policies on capital punishment. However, the court cautions these states to observe farness and consistency when conducting death penalty. References Coldrey, J. (1991). The right to silence: Should it be curtailed or abolished? Bootstrap Time

Bootstrap Time This essay is not about the whipping kind of bootstrap, but the kind you pull yourself up I received an anonymous request on my website, but I replied, wanting so badly to help this person get centered in his fight to be a writeror his enlightenment that maybe he isnt cut out to be a writer. Yes, there are some of those out there, and believe it or not, they never recognize themselves. I will not quote the person because the grammar was poor, but it went something like this: I have written a book. A well-known publisher wants to publish it. The publisher said it needed lots of work. They will not publish it on their own because of the work it needs. If I still want it published, theyll do so for $2,000. I want this book to reach people. Can you help me get money to make it happen? This is how many books on Amazon, Barnes Noble, Kobo, and more become published. This poor individual thought that paying the money would get someone to look at the book, fix it, and put it out there. I wrote him back and told him to forget about publishing and start learning how to write. If a vanity press tells him that the book needs work, dangthe book needs work. Time to suck it up and face the fact that his writing needs serious attention over a serious period of time until the book is as good as it can be. In other words Anyone can publish a book. Only good books sell. Only well promoted good books sell well. And you control it all. Nothing will make you feel more accomplished than to sweat blood and learn: 1) how to write 2) how to edit 3) how to publish (all methods) 4) how to sell There are too many tools and resources out there not to educate yourself. Yes, it takes time. All good things in life take time and dedication. My wish for you is to feel the fire to make your writing work well.

Zara Questions Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Zara Questions - Case Study Example Then, both internal as well as external production flowed into Zara’s central distribution center. From there, the products were shipped to strategically located and attractive stores twice a week, which in a way eliminates the need for warehouses. This way Zara is able to design and reach the finished goods in stores within 4 to 5 weeks, and just 2 weeks for the restocking of existing products. 2. The major competitors of Zara as described in the case study are The Gap, Hennes & Mauritz, and Benetton. The Gap is the U.S. based retailer of casual clothes particularly selling T-shirts and jeans. Its store operations are mainly U.S. centric but its production is internationalized, with 90 percent of their finished products being outsourced from outside the U.S. Hennes and Mauritz is the Sweden based retailer of casual clothes and is regarded as the closest competitor to Zara. H&M has strongly internationalized its operations because of which it generates more than half of its sales from foreign stores. Benetton is the Italy based retailer who mainly manufactured and sold brightly colored knitwear. It outsourced most of its production to subcontractors. The competitors who are not described in the case study include Uniqlo and Primark. Uniqlo is the Japanese retailer of casual wears. It manufactures its products in-house and also sources from its supply units in China and Thai land. Primark is an international food and cloth retailing group, with stores in a number of European countries. It sources its finished products from India, Bangladesh, and others. 3. The major strength of Zara is that it has a broader and optimal vertical scope when compared with its competitors. That is, while Zara owns and operates its production as well as its stores, its competitors due to their narrower vertical scope maximally outsourced their production and even licensed their stores. For example, both The Gap and H&M have outsourced all of their production to Asian countries
